I've been thinking...

But not blogging. Here's a brief rundown of what's been on my mind lately:

My students are currently finishing a unit on diversity/affirmative action. Lately, I've been worrying that, although they might come to the university with diverse viewpoints, they leave with the same relativism-infected, semi-utilitarian, contractualist outlook. I know that many of them need to learn to think broadly while they're in college, but I worry that they may end up so open-minded that it's just lots of wind blowing around between their ears.

Also, I've been thinking more and more about the future of the LogicianFamily. I'd like to have more miniLs (God willing) and a big old house to raise them in, but it isn't totally clear where or how we're going to make our life. Mostly, I just want us to be happy (and also to be healthy and super-cool). (I just realized it might sound like we're in dire need of making a life, but we're comfortable, just not sure where and what we're going to end up.)

Finally, I've been thinking about getting a sling for the miniL to ride around in. Mostly, I'd just like the use of my left arm back and the BabyBjorn is too hard on my back. I need something I can use to hold her on my hip, so if you've got any suggestions, let me know.
